First students join new Training Academy at Chadney Bulgin
Chadney Bulgin has launched a Wealth Training Academy to help train young people for a career in financial planning.
The Academy involves on-the-job mentoring and training as well as coaching and support to gain the relevant qualifications.
Two recent recruits to the company have successfully applied to be the first students to join the Academy. However, Chadney Bulgin is also keen to attract new people to the company who also want to apply to the Academy and train to be a financial planner at the firm.
“I believe that the new Academy will deliver the perfect blend of skills required to equip our next generation of Financial Planners,” said David Thomas, Joint Managing Partner of Chadney Bulgin. “We also have many more exciting opportunities coming through as a result of our succession planning, so new recruits can expect to see the prospect of a fascinating and fulfilling career before them.”
Academy applicants will typically start as an Administrator at Chadney Bulgin while gaining the skill, experience and qualifications through the structured training process to be appointed as a Paraplanner when they are ready for that role.
A Paraplanner works closely with the financial planners at the firm providing support and research for the team. After a period in that post learning skills such as cashflow planning and how to construct financial plans for clients, successful students will be offered the opportunity to become a Trainee Financial Planner.
It is expected that it will take Academy students about five years to gain all the relevant qualifications and experience required to become a financial planner.
“The Wealth Academy has given me an amazing and rare opportunity to work alongside very successful, well established advisers within the profession,” said Carl Hayward, one of the first two students accepted onto the Academy.
“I see this as an invaluable opportunity to learn and grow my own knowledge and skills so that I am in the best possible position to be successful in the profession.”
Daniel Smith, who is a Financial Planning Administrator at the firm is the other Academy student.
“When I joined Chadney Bulgin just over a year ago, I was keen from the start to progress my career with the goal of eventually becoming an Investment Adviser,” he said.
“The Training Academy has allowed this idea to become a reality as the structured format of the Academy syllabus will allow me to gain the required technical and practical experience to help make me a well-rounded adviser.”
